The role of a Community Activator Coach is to play a key part in supporting healthier communities, focusing on improving the health and well-being of the nation. They create a positive environment that supports people, especially young individuals, to grow and develop through sport and physical activity. These coaches promote, deliver, and lead fun, inclusive, and engaging activities that encourage whole communities to adopt and maintain a physically active lifestyle. Beyond being activity and sports leaders, they truly understand the needs of their communities and customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging and energetic sessions which are appropriate for toddlers and young children (we have session plans in place for you to follow).
· Attend Regular meetings with the team.
· Create a safe, fun and secure environment for young children to explore and learn new skills.
· Build good relationships with parents and children who become part of our programme. Develop a strong community amongst those who are involved.
· Be organised and punctual to lessons.
· Be a good role model to young children.
What your apprenticeship includes:
-A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
-A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
-Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
-The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don’t already have GCSE)
You will be working towards a level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship over the course of 12-18 months

Desired Skills
Successful Candidates will have/need to get: · Enhanced DBS Clearance (can be done with us) · First Aid Qualified (Can be done with us) · Child Safeguarding Certificate (Can be done with us) · Experience of working with pre-school and toddler aged children. · A sports coaching qualification is desirable but not essential. · Friendly, warm and welcoming personality with lots of energy.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality who is not afraid to act ‘silly’ and can make children laugh– The main aim of our programme is to make a child’s first experience of P.E and Tennis to be fun and exciting!
Qualifications required
Missed out on getting your Maths and English GCSE’s? Don’t worry- you can still apply but you will need to complete Functional Skills Level 2 before you finish the apprenticeship. Our Learning Coaches can support you with this so don’t let this put you off!
A driving licence or ability to get around easily would be highly desirable.
Future prospects
We would be looking for managers and area managers as we continue to grow.
