Level 2 apprenticeship

 


The Commis Chef Level 2 apprenticeship provides a great training opportunity for junior team members working within kitchens that prepare food from fresh produce. They will learn how to carry out basic functions in every section of the kitchen, providing the experience to consider and value each section.

Who is it for?

For junior members of the team who are looking to pursue a career as a chef, who may work in culinary establishments of all varieties and sizes including hotels, pubs and restaurants.

Blended delivery

1-1 facilitated learning sessions with Lifetime Learning Coach. Face-to-face and remote teaching and self study via online learning platform - Aptem.

End point assessment

75 minute multiple choice test, 3 hour Practical Observation with questions, and 60 minute professional discussion.

Duration

13 months + end point assessment

  • Required to prepare and cook the following food from scratch - seafood, meat, poultry, vegetables, sauces, soup, bread, pastries, cakes and hot and cold desserts?

Learners on this programme have the option to participate in Lifetime’s ‘Chef Academy’ with workshops focusing on particular cuisine with instruction from professional guest chefs.
