The role of the Community Sport and Health Officer is to initiate behaviour change in local residents with regards to engagement in sport and physical activity across local communities. Learners will develop excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills

  • Make decisions and provide recommendations to support individuals/groups with their behaviour/activity levels?
  • Use a range of organisational and generic IT systems to carry out your role?
  • Gather, analyse and evaluate customer information?
  • Able to adapt your skills and communication styles to match the needs of customers?
  • Able to plan and deliver sport activity sessions across a range of environments e.g outdoor and leisure centres?
  • Able to support and motivate participants and agree progression routes to continue their behaviour change through clear communications?
  • Able to plan for the future when making decisions to achieve organisational goals?
